Daily Life Onboard Silver Nova
Our days at sea were far from quiet—we kept busy (in the best way) with a lineup of onboard activities that made the ship feel just as exciting as the ports. From themed trivia and bingo to karaoke, the entertainment team hit that sweet spot between fun and refined. These activities took place at the Panorama Lounge which featured the best bartenders on the ship. Cham and Pablo not only made fantastic cocktails, they were great conversationalists!
Each evening, we were genuinely impressed by the talent of the singers and dancers during the main shows – we never missed a performance.
Morning Rituals & Staying Active
Most mornings started with a quiet ritual: coffee and a cronut from the Arts Café while I caught up on email. Then it was time to work out – either solo or in one of the fitness classes offered by the onboard instructor. I only skipped one day (blaming the time change!), but it felt good to stay active throughout the sailing.
After my workout, I always ate breakfast at The Marquee. Yes, it was outdoor dining. Yes, we were in Alaska. But between the heaters and the blankets they provided, this was never an issue! And I loved the healthier menu there, although ordering more than one thing each morning may have defeated the purpose!
Culinary Highlights: Something New Every Day
Dining on Silver Nova was a true highlight. We rotated between Atlantide, La Terrazza, The Marquee, Kaiseki, and The Grill – each one offering something different and delicious. One especially fun evening? Cooking my own steak tableside on a 400-degree lava stone at The Grill under the stars. It was a fun, interactive experience you don’t expect on a luxury cruise. The S.A.L.T. Program: A Flavorful Journey
One of the standout culinary experiences was the S.A.L.T. (Sea And Land Taste) program. We dined at the S.A.L.T. Kitchen most often because it focuses on regionally inspired menus. The rotating menu (updated every three days) kept things interesting, especially on a longer voyage. And for those who prefer consistency, there’s a thoughtfully curated standard menu too.
Suite Life: Deluxe Veranda Comfort
We stayed in a Deluxe Veranda Suite, and it truly felt like a home base. The layout made a big difference—with a separate sitting area, a spacious walk-in closet, and a bathroom that included both a walk-in shower and soaking tub (a rare luxury at sea).
