Sani Resort Review: Greece’s Ultimate Family-Accessible Luxury Escape

If you’ve ever wanted a luxury stay that feels like staying with friends in a private seaside world… meet Sani Resort. Nestled under an hour south of Thessaloniki on the Halkidiki Peninsula, this 1,000‑acre sanctuary is five distinct hotels united as one, eat with its own vibe, beaches, pools, dining, and energy.

Choosing where to stay within Sani can be overwhelming. That’s where working with an advisor who has actually spent time at the resort with their Sales Director can make all the difference!  (yes, I am referring to myself ➡)

Five Hotels, One Seamless Experience

  1. Sani Beach – The original, family-focused hub with a buzzing childrens’ club, splash pools, and direct beach access.
  2. Sani Club – A bungalow-style retreat tucked among olive groves, with panoramic sea‑view villas, great for families seeking a little calm.
  3. Sani Dunes – A chic, contemporary escape for families and couples, anchored by the largest hotel in Greece.
  4. Porto Sani – Stylish suites near the marina, great for families wanting a splash‑pool vibe and easy access to waterside restaurants.
  5. Sani Asterias – Ultra‑exclusive beachfront suites (some with private pools), adult‑only serenity, and direct marina access.

The Magic of the Half‑Board “Dine‑Around” Plan

Every guest on half‑board can enjoy breakfast and dinner included across the resort’s restaurants—from casual beachside bites to marina plates and fine dining—plus set‑menu lunches at select venues. With over 25 venues in rotation, you can easily try sushi by the marina, Greek mezze by the sea, and Italian favourites without worrying about extra charges.

The Marina

One of my favorite included amenity at Sani is the complimentary cruise (choose between 30 minutes or 3 hours) which departs from the marina. Beyond the cruise, the Sani Marina is a destination in itself. Picture a cosmopolitan waterfront lined with boutiques, gelato stands, and open-air restaurants that feel more like a Greek island than a traditional resort. It’s where guests wander in the evening for a change of scenery, perhaps enjoying wood-fired pizza by the water or sushi under string lights. The best part? Many of the marina’s restaurants are included in the half board dining plan, so it’s easy to dine somewhere different each night without worrying about surprise costs. It adds another layer of variety and flexibility, especially if you’re traveling with kids who like a little adventure or adults who appreciate a romantic dinner with a view.

Beaches and Pools

Sani Resort’s coastline is one of its crown jewels, with seven kilometers of Blue Flag beaches and crystal-clear waters. Some properties feature dedicated beach clubs, while others offer direct beach access with full service. No matter where you stay, it’s easy to find a comfortable lounger and let the attentive staff take care of the rest. We really enjoyed being able to each lunch from our ocean front loungers with our toes in the sand.  I especially loved the pool at Sani Dunes – sophisticated, peaceful, and just steps from the sea. It’s a beautiful spot to unwind after lunch or simply soak up the atmosphere.

Onsite Activities for All Ages

From complimentary forest hikes, archery, yoga, aqua aerobics, and stand-up paddle boarding to the Rafa Nadal Tennis Center and Chelsea FC youth academy, Sani delivers experiences for kids, teens, couples and solo travelers. If you want to chat Bear Grylls survival courses or local sandcastle contests, I’ve got all the details.
